In "Kulturhaus Tacheles" on Oranienburger Straße in the Berlin Mitte district.
The 9000 m2 building had a varied history: built 1907-1908 as a department store, it was a Nazi prison for a short period during World War II, the house was partially demolished during the GDR years, after the Berlin Wall had come down in 1989 the house was taken over by an artist collective 1990-2012. The artists called the building "Tacheles" (yiddish for "straight talking"). Berlin.
