Elephant (Loxodonta africana) covered in dry mud. Chobe, Botswana. The mud bath helps the elephant stay cool and protects against the intense sun and insects. Chobe National Park is full of elephants - at times an estimated 25.000 animals along 42 kilometers of Chobe River front. The huge number of hungry elephants have a disastrous impact on the forest - many areas looks like a moon landscape.
