Monks in the warm sunlight before the morning puja begins in Thicksey (or Thiksey?) Gompa. The view over the green Indus valley is spectacular. Thicksey Gompa (of the yellow hat sect of Tibetan Buddhism) is one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh and is situated about 19 kilometers east of Leh at an altitude of 3.600 metres.
